Monoballs |
The connection between the tripod and the camera is an extremely important, critical point. With the advent of digital photography, the risk of blurring a picture has, in fact, become higher rather than lower. While the rule used to be that exposure time (t) = 1/focal length (t=1/f), nowadays, this value has to be at least halved.
I am still to find the exact additional factor brought into play by the number of pixels; nonetheless, one thing is certain - the higher the number of pixels, the higher the risk of blurring. Checking the results immediately after shooting always reveals to the photographer even the slightest blurs in the picture caused by motion.
Of course, this is not something any dedicated amateur photographer wants, while a professional photographer simply cannot afford for this to happen. So-called HDR photographs, i.e. photographs taken with 2 or more exposures interleaved into one another, can also only be produced by using a safe ball head.
ARCA-SWISS monoballs are suitable for all camera systems, ranging from small format, through medium format all the way to large format cameras. |
